Roy... Where am I am at now, in the DEAD of summer, the water coming out of the tap is in the 30s. I am suprised it doesn't spit ice out at you.
Same with the rivers, assuming they are glacier fed. Now before I got here, glacier fed rivers came with the iillusion that they were cold, but clear blue water. They are cold, but very silty and almost look like muddy milk. If they are not glacier fed, then they can be a temperature sizzling 40F... So hot you might get burned if you go swimming in them.
However, on a serious note, there are hot springs around here. And those are nice and warm whether it is +60F or -60F out. Manley Hot Springs is one. Chena is another. The tub in my bathroom is a third.
The other thing I noticed is that people here keep the water heater set at 160F... It is almost boiling coming out of the tap. Great- unless you didn't realize the water was set that hot.
And on edit: Roy - ROR to the Dodge Ram picture.

We haven't talked about golf carts for a while. I still think about Darren's Munstermobile all the time! My cart was starting to worry me since all the experts say that the stock controller will not handle 23" tires. We have run the living hell out of it for over 2 years and honestly it was starting to slow down a bit so I went ahead and upgraded to a 500 amp controller before the stock one gave up on us during out Disney trip.
I will need to upgrade the motor next year to get the full benefit of 500 amps, but if you mat the pedal on takeoff, it will lift the front wheels. Top speed increased from 23 to 27 mph on flat ground. Downhill it will run upwards of 34 mph before it starts pushing the motor rpm into the danger zone. I didn't gain quite as much speed uphill as I had hoped for, but on the worst hills it went from 11 up to 14-15 mph which I can live with.
When the batteries need replaced, I will upgrade to 48v. At 48v with an upgraded motor, it should easily run 32 mph on flat ground and more like 20 on the hills. It hasn't been a cheap toy, but it sure is a fun one and I like to believe that a Camaro or Chevelle would cost me a heck of a lot more money especially since I don't have garage space for a car like that.

Tim, The Bronco frame is still outside but it is still warm her. I have a little more grinding to do before I move it inside. Actually the plan is (I think) is to get all or most of the grinding done get the new cross member welded in and then paint the frame so I can store it outside. Need money for suspension parts, later this winter I hope.
Anyway lots of things going on right now with all of the fruit starting to come ripe, so the Bronco project doesn't get much attention.
Have a good night, I'm headed to bed.

Well....only a moron wouldn't improve the dog house if they spent lots of quality time in it .
Speaking of improvements....still haven't pulled the trigger on cab lights (150 bucks). Not sure if its really worth it or not. I've always wanted 'em....but that's some bucks for lights.
