Pretty good storm came across here Friday, News was showing snow above 10,000 foot. So I headed out saturday to see if I could enjoy one last ride up high before it become snow bound.
What ever snow might have fallen on Saturday was gone. It was the Opening day of the Elk hunt. Bumped into a lucky hunter who offered me $100 to go haul his elk off the mountain. Since I was riding a mare and letting her yearling colt follow, I really didn't have the horses needed to haul elk, So I declined. I could have loaded the elk on the mare I was riding, But then I would have had to walk and lead her. Something wrong with that picture.
Spent the day between 8,000 and 11,000 foot elevation enjoying the fall colors. A new storm rolled in just as I loaded the horses back in the trailer and it washed all the dust off the rig as I drove home.
