Andre - I agree that Ford will most likely replace. How it got weak - I can't comment on, other than what you are thinking sounds plausible to me. Improper heat can weaken or cause weak steel and so can a contaminant. Why that made in China stuff is so gnarly.

Nice Darren!!!!

Nice joke too. Enjoy the "cider", but not so much as to miss out on visiting with your kids.

If it's been happening since day 1, when the hitch was welded, the heat cause a deformation in the shaft and quality control didn't catch it. I doubt this happened because you would have noticed it the first time you put in the hitch, but it's possible. The second is more likely the case. Same thing happened only the heat just weakened the steel and a load that it should be able to take caused the bend. Either way, the steel is likely contaminated or just a weak batch. I'd take it to Ford and have them take look at it. They will most likely replace it.
I am thinking it will have to go to Ford as well. It will have to wait until after the holidays. Going to enjoy a few days off first. Thanks for your input and suggestions guys.

Buncha savage perverts up in here....

Hmm... doesn't sound as funny as I thought it would....

Annnnnywaaay, howdy all, TGIF indeed, I'm on "vacation" next week, and since I typically log on while at work I might not be on much....still got shopping to do, kids will be outta school, etc.

Truck popped me with the double whammy this morning on the way in: Fuel filter change required AND oil change, so I'll be playing with it a little after work. Lift makes it super easy, plus since we're now up to like 5 or 6 6.7's in the fleet, all the materials are in the stock room

Doug- I'm a big fan of some hard cider- send me a batch to quality control

If I don't see y'all before then- Andre-Tim-Mitch-Steve-Gerry-Roy-Dak-Gigger-uhhh Tomahawk, Darren (NICE locker), and everybody else I can't remember..

Merry Christmas!! Remember to hug the ones you love, and the real reason for the season. Be safe up there on those non-snow covered roads

Darren, I love the look of the aluminum cover on the front. I also love the idea of a locker in the front. Many years ago I put a limited slip in the front of my K5 Blazer. Not a good idea for around here. In retrospect, a locker would be much better solution. Good job.

And I see it is already prepped for winter with chains on the tires.

Howdy gang. I received the yeast earlier, so my batch of cider is going. It won't be ready to bottle for another 10-14 days, and then it will spend an additional 10-14 days carbonating in the bottles before it is ready to chill and drink. Chuck, (or anyone else) if you want some, come and get it! This is largely an experiment, so I have no idea what to expect. Obviously, I hope it turns out well, but if it doesn't, at least I'm only out about $10.

Tim, what's wrong with that tractor? To me it just seems "seasoned and experienced".

Darren, again, the locker looks cool. Looking forward to hearing a follow-up after you try it out. I'm assuming there is a beaver hunting trip coming up soon. I like shooting beaver, so have fun!

Forgot to tell you guys, Wednesday morning, my ex needed to take her car to the shop for some repairs, and asked me to give her a ride home from the dealership. While we were cruising back home, my system asked me if I wanted to do a VHR, to which I replied in the affirmative. After it did its thing, it said that my report was successfully transmitted and that I could look at it online later. She asked what all of that was about, and when I explained what it was doing and what it would report, she seemed genuinely impressed with the technical features of the truck. She likes my Powerstroke!

Hope you all had a great day and will have a pleasant evening.

I am not quite sure how to respond to that post Doug. But glad it all worked out with the Ex.

I do have question, are you healthy? (Since you ran a VHR)

Do those VHR's provide any meaningful information? I know my car has the option but I've never used it.

Very simliar to my monthly onstar report that is run automatically for me. TElls you whether there are any codes and goes over the main systems of the car and runs a diag on them. It always lets Ford know how many miles on the car. The newer SUper Duties it will tell you DEF level (Not any more granular than the dashboard though) and Oil % remaining (more granular than the dash boards 'OK').
