My boy got a promotion at work and got a new and free company 4x4 Cheby Z71 truck. He is selling his 6.4, but left it in my hands as he is off to China's oilfields for a little over a month. I believe I got it sold this afternoon (money is talking on Monday supposedly), but guarantee the boy will be back in a Super Duty withing a year or two. He sent me a couple pictures for his first text and I laughed and told him there are pump jacks a lot closer to home and I had thought he had outgrown tricycles.

Congrats on your boys promotion. A free truck is a free truck.

Tell him to learn Chinese while he is over there, he may just need it in his lifetime. I would have my kids learn it, but they don't offer it in school. I hope that tri-cycle isn't their idea of an ambulance.

Yep. He has air jammed, flow back hand, joined the Corps, finally went to school and then mud school with one of the majors. He developed a 19# (barite) brine fluid that the Chinese wanted to try and that is why he is over there right now. Hope it works n the field as it did in the lab.

Dak,
He is supposed to be taking language lessons. And i agree, a free truck is a free truck & worth over $20,000/year easy.

Never used brine weighted with barite, always Zinc at that weight. Hate that stuff!

Every CLA we've had allotted to us has rolled off the truck sold. And so far so good.

And Mom got the V8 - she'd still drive a manual if you could find one in a manual.
New model launches for us in the early 2000s were disastrous (your mom's wagon launched mid nineties), but appreciated by my bank account. I still get excited when a early ML rolls in (think Jurassic Park). Those things single handedly bought my previous super duty.

It's not that different from the salt muds I used to run except his recipe works in 375F, has a less than 8 HTHP with the rheology of a black powder mud. The intent is a gauge hole thru the massive salt sections and do it cheaper than an oil based mud.

In the deepwater Gulf, they usually use a PHPA system in the riserless section and usually displace with SOBM once the stack is ran.
