Hope everyone's project continues on schedule. Been driving the heck out of the 2015. Put 400 miles on it already. That's like 2 months of driving when I was in Miami. Lots of it moving stuff though - so it should slow down a lot in a bit. Otherwise I am going to blow through the extended warranty this year!
Drive it like Ya own it ! ....

Not to bore the majority, but I thought it may be time for a fat boy update. Friday will be the 4 week mark since I started my weight loss campaign. As of today, I am down 20 lbs with 15 to go to my goal, but I wouldn't be sad to go an extra 5 if it works out that way. I've struggling with the exercise recently as the days are getting shorter and when I roll out of bed at 5 am to go walk, it is still completely dark and cool. Need to get re-motivated to work that out. Blood sugar isn't working out as well as I had hoped. Even with the metformin and a diet that consists of next to no carbs at all, I am still seeing readings of over 100 in the morning. The good news is that 2 hrs after a meal it is only 110 to 112 so all is not lost. I know if I can ramp the exercise back up it will help with that.

Blood pressure has been decent, but again not as good as I expected with the diet, exercise and medication. I definitely still have some work to do! Oh well, you can't expect to make up for the last 20 years of beer and pizza parties overnight I guess! For those of you thinking about making the changes, do it sooner than later. The longer you wait, the harder it is to overcome the damage that has already been done!

Good morning all.

Matt, keep up the good work. I had set a minimum time limit for my diet as well as an actual weight goal. I was fortunate enough to surpass the weight loss goal by several pounds and was pleased with the end results. You can do it. Dieting sucks, but the rewards are worth it. I was able to lose 22 lbs in 4 weeks. Also remember that weight loss is quickest and easiest when you have the most to lose. In other words, it may drop off much faster at the beginning of the diet than it will toward the end.

Pretty much the same thing I have done, Doug! When I started this journey, my goal was to be at 230 or less or by the end of August. Only 5 lbs to go in about 2.5 weeks so I'm right on schedule. You are absolutely correct in that as you lose weight, it becomes more difficult or I should say a slower process. Dieting really doesn't bother me. I have been extremely faithful to my meal plan and my goal keeps me focused on that even during vacation! Last night I did break down and eat a sugar cookie. It wasn't from a need or want to eat a cookie, I was conducting an experiment with my blood sugar levels. I ate the cookie, walked away and never thought about eating another. At this point I am dedicated to a complete lifestyle change, not just a "diet" to lose weight.

Here is a shocker for you.....since July 14, I have only drank 1 beer! I also drank 1 Mike's Hard Lemonade on vacation, but that is it, just 2 alcoholic beverages in the last month. I enjoy beer socially, but thankfully it has never been a "need" for me. I'm cool with water. Now if I could just get the wife to take the same view on beer! She drank 15 beers in one day on vacation. She wasn't happy when I mentioned that she needed to slow down. When I told her that she just consumed 1500+ calories in beer alone for the day and only burned maybe 400 of those calories from all the walking we were doing, it started to paint a different picture for her. Beer is good, but empty calories and carbs are not!

Morning all, just back from an apt with my surgeon.

Matt, you are doing well, keep it up. I lost around 8 lbs during my Florida trip, so i'm starting off good. Now that I am back home, I am back doing the Shakeology shakes for lunch every day.

Other Steve, I hate home projects but they sure look good when they are done. I'm ready to sell this place though. It's time to move!

Tim, I love fresh green beans; nice!

Waiting on UPS to bring my wife's birthday (tomorrow) gift, then running to town and doing some errands.

Have a great day everyone.

Ha! I wish. I bought her a Bose SoundTouch 30 to replace her old Bose SoundDock.

I don't think I will be doing much more to the truck as we are looking for a new place. I also would like to be able to park it in the garage, but we will see. If we move to FL, I think I have to put a crappy 8" lift and bald tires on it to register there

I ROR'd at myself as I was typing the FL registration thing. It's the truth though.

I will say that I have never seen as many Super Duty's as I did when I was in FL. They are everywhere, and all but two (both King Ranch's, go figure) were lifted; most ridiculously. Also saw lots of Raptor's sitting on the lots there as I imagine most are waiting for the new body style Raptor.
