'85 F-150 Camber Adjustment?
All,
I've got an '85 F-150 I-6 (115k) with excessive tire wear on the very outside edge of the passenger side tire. I suspect this is due to excessive positive camber as the wear is smooth and not ragged like bad toe might cause. I have not checked the toe btw.
I've seen some posts reporting that the way to correct this is by bending the I-beams, and still others that talk about the use of shims. While both may work, which method is the "correct" one? One of the manuals (Haynes) I have says that camber alignments are beyond the skills of the DIYer and should be left to professional shops. The other (the F-150 Bible) reports that "some" models have adjustable camber and other do not. I may be mixing up the sources, but essentially the message is not clear.
Additionally, the truck will shudder slightly under braking - nothing violent, but definitely there. I had chalked this up to warped front brake rotors in the past, but I'm concerned that the source of the shudder has some commonality with the source of the tire wear.
Are there other places I should look for wear that is causing this situation? Perhaps the bushing that connects the inboard end of the I beam to the body?
Any suggestions you could provide would be helpful.

I would definately check your radius arm bushings- mine went bad at about 95000mi.
camber adjustments on a 2wd normally require you bending the i-beams, which doesn' t seem to stay adjusted correctly for long.
4wd generally have bushings you can change to fix that.
