Nitto Crosstek HD or BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain t/a

Need to replace the worn GY AT/s on my '09 F-250. Truck is used about 6-8k miles per year and 95% is towing our 8k lb travel trailer. Don't offroad it either. I have the 20" wheel package and was considering both these in the recommended LT275/65/20 Load E 10 ply size. Any opinions. Other option might be the Firestone Destination AT but I really don't need an AT for how I use the truck and the ones I am considering actually come with a 50k treadlife warranty which is pretty impressive for a LT load E tire. tks

I have really liked how my truck feels with my CrossTec HD. I had a set of BFG about 15 years ago that wore like crap and never went back to them. They are a good tire now, by the way guys are talking about them.
I am going to Recommend the Nitto's to you. I have only had them for a few months. The guys that balanced them said they were about perfect on the machine. They are nice tires so far. See my size in my sig. below.

Having used Nittos on my moms 01 Cherokee they lasted 70k miles! My dad has about 45k on his BFG A/T and they look excellent still. Both brands are great IMO

I convinced my Dad to put the nitto dura grapplers on his dodge 2500 last year, he has since driven 55k miles on them towing our three big draft horses, and up to 15k lbs of hay and they probably have another 15k miles left in them. I just recently bought my f250 and have some bf goodrich tires on them, not a comfortable ride. Have heard that they are an amazing tire though and top of the line.

went to put 275/55R20 rugged terrains on my wife's expedition this summer and they wouldnt sell them to me because the weight rating wasn't high enough.. seemed strange. 275/65 definitely has an E rating then?

Post a picture of your purchase. I'm looking up cant decide to go bigger or stock and am not interested in lifting the truck although riding the pass in the Rockies almost made me regret that.

Most of the 275/55/20 tires are not load range E. I found that out when I was looking for a replacement. When you step up to the 275/65/20 size, most of the tires are load range E, sometimes D. Not sure of the reasons, just my observation.

Thanks for the replies. Wound up purchasing and having the BF Goodrich Rugged Terrain t/a's installed yesterday. Great looking tire. Almost an AT look. My decision came down to availability of this tire at many more places than the Nitto's that were only carried by Merchants where I live. Figured if I had a blow out I could get a replacement BF Goodrich much quicker. Balanced out great and drive/track nicely.
