lokar throttle cable??

Another question to an item that I may have to use..if u don't already know..I'm converting my engine from a blown block 360 to a rebuilt 40000 mile ago 300/6. I have the offy c intake and running an edelbrock.now..how the world do I hook a throttle cable/linkage to the carb. I hear some guys get a cable from lokar? Just curious how to do this and the best way to go about it.

Is there a way to NOT have to change my gas pedal? It has the old bar setup from the 360 setup..

some quick thoughts

I just finished an install on my 300-6. I was able to use the stock throttle cable for the YFA actually. I was able to take a standard Ford throttle cable bracket from an 84-85 Ranger/Brocno II (with a 2.8 carbed motor), and bolted it to the provided 4/2 barrel adapter that I got From Clifford.

I just added (welded) a small piece of aluminum stock to the adapter and drilled and tapped it for the bracket bolts....

Well..I forgot to mention that I'm using a 4 barrel carb on an offenhauser c intake and the truck was previously a 360 Fe engine..

I like your setup..the drawback I'm facing is the gas pedal connection. It's not made to run a cable type linkage..it had the old metal bars and clips..and I need to know if there is a way around this and not have to get another pedal.

I should've noticed your issue when i read it..I like the older style throttle arrangement. I can understand the dilemma now. I'm sure some here will have some input. Maybe some sort of hybrid /bellcrank/cable mod would do....?

If your referring to the ball on the end of the pedal arm that hooked to the bell crank setup you can drill it out its just pressed in so it'll come out then rig a bracket off of one of the studs that hold the intake/exhaust on. I originally set it up with the cable off of a 10 speed bike but it was hanging up so I eventually broke down and bought a lokar.

The pedal travel is adjustable via the cable itself it has anchor points that allow you to take up slack. Lokar TC1000U36 - Lokar Throttle Cables - Overview - SummitRacing.com was the one I used, I run a DP intake though so my cable goes up and wraps around the carb pulling towards the passenger side fender.

That arm is the stock arm all I did was drill out the peg that hooked onto the rods for the bell crank so it clears. If you make the cable really really tight it'll hit the valve cover but I get full throw on the throttle shaft with it setup like it is.
