Hey Heater,
Nice! At least you have a nice solid floor there. I peeled up 6 layers of
mobile home siding to discover why it was there - floor was a bit drafty.

Looking good over there!

Nice knowing ya.... LOL Bleach and powerwash is my advice. I got a nasty sinus infection from a Mustang a few years back. Those little b**tards can leave some stuff in there. Nothing like a clean surface to work from. Good luck!

Did you find any dead rodents? I did, when I was cleaning out my Airflow when I first bought it. That bugger was neslted underneath the rear seat cushion and made the rear of the vehicle his/her home. The upholstery was torn and chewed up in the rear, but not in the front.

I don't do well with dead animals. I even had a hard time using a shovel to try and remove the well-preserved carcass.

Welcome to the club. I just thought that was a test to see if we were up to the challenges of our projects. I thought I was done cleaning out the droppings and then I found another area more than once. The mouse/rat urine did more damage than almost 50 years of using the truck.

Well...welcome to the forum....hanta virus and all!!

My seat was full of rat nests....they apparently like the old cotton batting that was used before foam was invented.

Hi Heater and welcome. That's one sizeable a pile of rat crap!

The rodents sure aren't shy about climbing into the tightest spots to build a nest. Not only was the exhaust on my '49 full of mouse bedding, but they managed to get all the way up into the exhaust valves in the block.

thats some scary *****, a guy just up the street from me died earlier this year from that. he had recently tore out the interior of an old vintage camp trailer then suddenly became i'll. sad sad story. I hope you didnt breath to much dust, I was right in the middle of tearing into a parts truck when I heard about my neighbor, I didnt breathe muc whilr pulling the cab apart.

reminds me of another car site where the guy finally gets his trunk open to find a trunk monkey. only it had been dead for a long long time.
another guy on there has a signature that says. " I like long walks on the beach, fine wine, and poking dead things with a stick" lol

welcome to fte.
I hope we all hear from you again.

I hope you wore a mask or at least held your breath and didn't kick up too much dust into the air... Nice truck...

Is that a Charger next to your truck?

Mice had moved most of the cotton seat cushion material into the oil pan of my truck- crafty little buggers. all part of the process with these old trucks that have been parked a long time LOL

Good looking truck but bad s*%t --Got my 49 out of a barn 18 years after it was parked- no rat crap but a lot more rust than yours- not sure which is better to have.
