2008 F250... Auto dimming rear view mirror is possessed!

The rear view mirror in my 08 F250 started freaking out last week. It dims then lightens up, dims then lightens up, dims then lightens up..... etc, etc. I can't get it to stop! lol Is there a sensor I can take a look at and/or replace or am I looking at a new mirror? Is the sensor built into the mirror itself?

Kind of a cheesy question but I was hoping that someone either had this problem before or knows what I can look at - test - replace to get it back to normal.

Thanks!

Mine did that a few weeks after I got my truck for a couple days then just up and quit. Try turning it off for a day or 2. I believe that's what I did

Thanks for the help guys! I ended up just unplugging the sensor from the back and it stays un-dimmed now. At least I can see out of it and it's not driving me insane changing colors the whole time I'm driving!
