Rough Idle but No code!!!
Hey Guys,
new to this forum, only because this is my first real problem with my vehicle. I've owned it new and currently has 210,000 miles on it.
I started having problems about 2 weeks ago. It started surging/hesitating and it even turned off on my wife while at a stop light.
the code then was P0430. Mechanic wanted too much money to fix it, (only one new cat) aftermarket.
Driving it home it started sputtering even more. I reset the code and the CEL turned on quickly. Autozone said p0306, misfire on cyl 6 and p1406.
I knew I needed a tune up so I coughed up money for new coils (I know only replace it they're bad but they are 200K miles old) and new motorcraft plugs.
Car ran a bit better. no more misfire code but P1406 still there. After tons of research regarding the DPFE sensor and EGR valve. This is what i've done so far.
I vacuum tested the EGR valve while it was running and it almost stalled. So that shows EGR works.
I took apart the Throttle body and cleaned out EGR ports (they were in bad shape). Put it back together. reset codes.
Still p1406 and bad/rough IDLE and acceleration.
Replaced DPFE sensor with motorcraft DPFE15. I reset the code.
CEL has NOT come on but car still Idles rough and surges on acceleration.
I'm thinking the next steps are replacing AIC and EGR or EGR solenoid.
Any suggestions.

thanks for your Help.

Thanks KBsupercrew.
Last night I tested the EVR supply and at idle there is vacuum.
I also took the IAC off and cleaned it with Carb cleaner. Looks a Lot cleaner inside now.
Still getting the hesitating/miss/surging.
No codes are pulling up. Could it be fuel related?
Should I just buy the IAC and EGR? That's about $100 from Amazon. (motorcraft of course).
Tonight i'm gonna try to disconnect each coil to see if its a misfire. I don't think so bc i'm not getting a code, but I want to rule that out too.
