Starting to put my flathead back together and am running onto to a problem with the camshaft gear. The gear itself will bolt up no problem, but when I put the bolt retaining clip in, (you put the bolts in and then bend the retaining clips around the bolts), I am having all kinds of problems getting the bolts to line up.
Is there just one way that it goes in or can I get by with small lock washers and maybe some Loctite on the bolts? Thanks for the assist in advance.
