Someone needs to make a simple die to produce a repair panel for that area. I'd probably do it if I had a pair of fenders or truck to work from. It's not a complex shape. Are all the 48-52 fenders alike in that area?

The F1s didn't have many compound curves so patch panels shouldn't be too difficult to make.

So i got the shocks mounted up today. At ride height i only have 2.5 in of travel between the crossmember and rear housing. would it weaken it too much to take 3/4 to 1 in out of the bottom of the 2 in crossmember for clearance or should i redesign the crossmember to get some extra clearance?

I don't think a boxed shallow crescent shaped notch should weaken it too much if kept nor more than 3/4" deep and as large a radius crescent as possible. You want to spread the stress as evenly and smoothly as possible, so avoid a notch that is a tall U or has corners. Depending on the springs you are running and if you load the bed 2 1/2" at the center may be enough The ends of the axle travel more than the center since the wheels seldom go up and down together, just watch it going over RR tracks or speed bumps hard. I might roll the dice and see if it's enough when you get it on the road. You also could put in good sized triangular gussets at the ends of the crossmember that parallel the coilovers to strengthen it if you are concerned about notching depending on where your exhaust is going to go? If the gussets are large enough, cut a hole in the center and run the exhaust thru them.

In the f6. Keep the 2 speed diaphragm (if its good) and if it has the original hydro booster they are worth keeping -vent filter in cab too
Check all the drums on the heavy trucks too as they are NLA and worth selling if they aren't oversize-someone here will want them. Wheel studs too if your inclined to pull them

Good job and keep on going on the truck looks good

They are in pretty rough shape so not a whole lot is usable. Just wondering what all people are looking for off of these big trucks that i should make sure to include in my craigslist ads. Another question is with the wheels. Im pretty sure one has lock ring wheels and the other is widowmakers. Just want a definite answer about them.

Thanks guys! I think my next move is going to be to break everything down and sandblast and paint the frame. With the humidity and heat all of the suspension work i did on the rear is starting to get rusty so i think its time to get it all coated.

Got the sway bar mounted the other day. I ordered the master cylinder and proportioning valve so im gonna start on the getting that mounted when they come in. After i get that done im gonna strip the chassis down and paint it so that i can mount the brake lines and not need to take them back out again.

Did some work on the lower fenders. Im also trying to get my 17 gallon mustang tank mounted. Im probably gonna go a different way than most people mount it.
