Maybe I missed something here, I thought you traded a 52 that you like the best because you wanted a flattie and now you want to pull the flattie for the Cleveland but keep the bellhouse because it's numbers matching, IM CONFUSSED HERE but to each their own.

I can see that. Heres the logic. The bellhousing is the only stamped driveline number. Maybe I will keep the flatty. Generally anything I do to a stock vehicle I can undo at a later date If I want. As per the 52. That was 30 years ago when I was in a flathead club. Lately I like Horsepower and loud rumbling Hot Rod pipes. Its not like I would put a chevy small bock in it or anything like that. If I do want to swap out the motor... I will try to offer the truck for trade for another one that isnt matching numbers. But that can be a hassle and a lot of trouble seing as I already have a great truck. I would only be interested in a Mercury as well and those are very hard to find in good shape.

I can always use this motor in another truck later. I wont be starting this swap for at least a year. But I found this motor and it was priced so low I had to buy it.. But man the old truck would be sure fun with the 351 in it.

With a bit of sadness I have sold my truck to Aaron in Calgary Alberta. He's going to fix him up into a great show truck. The old rig has a great new home with an owner that will do him the right way. I will eventually be getting a new project. 1967-1976 F100 stepside to fix up. Will report back when I get one.

BC is just down the road from me and it's all down hill. Sure wish I had me a Merc. Please keep me in mind if for any reason the deal with Aaron don't pan out.

Aaron from Calgary bought my old 51 for an amazing restomod. Drove to Vancouver to pick it up. Reallyglad the rig got a great new home and owner.
Found this one and recently bought it. Its still in Alberta. Cant wait to get it on the road. 52 is my favorite year and have looked for a very very long time for one. Dont worry Aaron... I found another cigarette lighter. Same as the 49 ford car ones. It has the original flatty in it as well. Put the 351 cleveland in my 72 F100 shortbox. Will be keeping the 52 stock.
