F-superduty question

F-superduty question
I have recently purchased a 1994 f-superduty (f-450 to some) dump truck. It is currently an automatic which i cannot stand. Im looking to convert it to a zf5. My question is will my driveline parking brake from the automatic bolt up to a zf5? Also if im not mistaken they used a 4x4 zf5 in the super duty correct?

The 6spd, has another lower gear to help you get rolling, but it will not be a direct swap, like the ZF5 will be. The drive line park brake from the E4OD will not fit the 6 spd., as the output shaft is larger on the ZF6. It is also taller so you will have to modify the tranny floor cover to get it to fit. Not worth the extra effort in my opinion.

you can swap in a 1356 t-case with a PTO.
you may just want to run the truck for a while.maybe the auto thing will grow on ya.
swapping out a perfectly fine E40D for a ZF5 would be a downgrade imho.it's one thing if the truck isn't worth the $ for a new/rebuilt E40D when one fails,to just swap in a ZF5 because it can be much cheaper, but id never do such a thing with a good E40D all in working order.
if you ever add a turbo, your boost doesn't drop off between shifts.you keep it.a Zf5 truck can't match the overall performance level of a properly functioning E40D equipped truck.
