The Farm Tag is cool. Who knows any more about them? Was it so ya didn't have to license them every year like Historical plates? Cuz they was seldom on the road?

Great story! Shoot, I would clean up the inside, get it running and stopping, and drive it as is! That is too cool!!

Welcome Heater!

Great story - hopeful that you can bring the old girl back to life with her original flat head.

Happy Motoring!

That right there to me as well is what this hobby is mostly all about.
Get the old flatty running as best you can without tearing into it to much. Than make sure ya can stop her as well. Than driver her a while just the way Henry built her. You and her will form a bond and talk to each other in a language only the two of you can understand. Than before long she will tell you what if any upgrades she needs and wants to keep you happy and driving her.

You guys hit it on the nail. I can't wait to hear the ol flat head sing. One thing I like about working on these old trucks is if you have a 1/2 wrench or socket you can do just about anything.

Welcome! 51 sixes are cool....You should be able to make it run...as long as you were able to get the head off. Marvel oil and lots of penetrating oil in the cylinders and around the valves worked for me. Be patient and don't spare the oils, it could take a couple of weeks to break the pistons loose. You may have to take the intake/exhaust manifolds off to get to the lifters...they stick in an old six engine and make it impossible to turn over. Try working the crank back and forth with a big socket on the damper bolt and see if the pistons move. Good luck from a fellow sixer.

Mix half acetone and ATF together. Best thing there is to break an engine loose or bolts or.... And it cheap.
