84 f250 front axle swap

im looking to change my TTB front end to something a bit more worthwhile. just wondering if anyone knows off the top of their head what year of ford would have a dana 60 with the same gear ratio as the 84.
my lovely father took it out for a drive and the bearings went out.... he kept driving it. so simply to say its cheaper for me to buy a parts truck and replace my entire front end than it is to fix my 4 wheel drive. plus it would be fun to learn to do an axle swap. any help?

85 1/2 and up f350 pickup. I am not sure how late you can go, but I believe it's in the late 90's. There is no promise on the ratio though, you just have to look at each truck. They had a 3.55 ratio and a 4.10 ratio.

Like franklin said 85.5 - 97
85-91 will be kin pin and pin on calipers
92-94 will be ball joint and pin on calipers
95-97 will be ball joint and bolt on calipers

In order to swap the dana 60 SUCCESSFULLY, you will need.

Axle
steering linkage
pitman arm
track bar
track bar mount
driveshaft(from same trans, AKA c6-to -c6, 4 speed - 4 speed)
Transfercase Yolk(has to be from a 1356 to work on your t-case, a 4407 yolk will NOT work)
leaf springs
driverside u-bolt plate

EVERYTHING I listed MUST come from a F350. NOTHING in the list above will work CORRECTLY from a F250

Hey I apologize for hijacking your thread but I thought it better than creating a whole new one with a similar question.

I have a 4 speed 4x4 81 F250 with the TTB and an inline 6 that I want to switch to a solid front axle. Probably wont be dana 60 since I am looking for free/cheap as chips. Are there any axles that will bolt straight up?

Thanks

Nope, only the dana 60's listed above will bolt in.
