I just used the Frame Saver Position Core Support Set of 2 from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. Only $8.00 for the pair. Took maybe 1.5 hours to cut the correct size hole with a hole saw and weld them in on both sides. Probably about the same amount of time as it would have taken to cut and punch out all those rivets.

I repaired the core support brackets by welding 1/8" plate on top with the appropriate hole cut through it. But, I had to spend $302 inc shipping for the full mount hardware kit from JBG.
As for getting done, I have the same goal - year end. Gonna be a lot of detail work 'twixt now and then, with most fasteners and small parts getting powder coated. How are you doing that?

Wow! $302 is a bite! What hardware kit are you talking about?
As far as powdercoating the small parts, haven't you got that box of parts I sent you. I have been taking them to the local powdercoating shop. Winter is pretty slow for them, so it only takes a week, but summertime, and for big jobs, it can take a month or more. I was toying with the idea of gettng a small Eastwood kit, doing the small stuff myself and baking them in the wife's oven. I know what folks say about having a dedicated oven, so no decision has been made on that. Also, I don't have a blasting cabinet, so part prep might be difficult. I really want a Garage Mahal, like yours.
But we are making progress. Slowly, but surely.

The hardware kit includes the bolts, "nuts", spacers, etc for the core and cab mounts - everything but the bushings themselves. Almost none of my hardware was reusable. I toyed with making my own, but I was on a very tight time schedule to get the hardware and bushings to my paint and body man so he can mount things and align them properly. So, I bit the bullet and paid the piper.

Spent the evening working on the radiator mount. Cut the old mounts out, and cleaned up the core support, and then measured, mocked up, cut, test fit, trimmed, and reset the radiator in the mounting brackets, like about a dozen or more times. Making a bit of progress on it, though. Should have it done tomorrow evening. Then I can enlarge the two small opening in the core support to supply my cold air intake, and get working on a cover that will clean up the entire top of the core support. The real kick in the pants is that I need to be done with it by Friday morning, when I haul it to Nashville for a visit with "The Arsonist" for a sweet paint job.
Pics to follow.

Hey Chris,
I'm anxious to see what's next, too, because it's paint! I have been working feverishly to get the radiator mounts finished so I can expand my cold air intake ports. I haven't taken time to take many photos, but I do have a few. I have figured out why its not fitting correctly, so when I get it back, I will finish it up, take a bunch of pictures about what I did for the radiator mount, and post them up, too. Then I can get the core support blasted and powdercoated. Unfortunately, I can't get the mount done before I have to take the truck to Nashville Friday morning. Oh well, that's how it happens sometimes.
When I get it back from paint, I can remove the fenders and finish the core support, get it powdercoated. Once the motor and drivetrain is reinstalled, I can bolt the core support and fenders back on. Whew! So many details. So many little items. But I am starting to get excited, because I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Correct. Rick Bacon, former host of MuscleCar that airs on Spike TV on Weekend mornings. I was hoping to get a recommendation from him, as there aren't any good shops around here, and he said he could help me out. How cool is that? I am stoked!!

Thanks. Actually, I am planning to paint it the original Shadow Blue Metallic. I want it to look like an 86 F150, just with an amazing paint job. Like the day it arrived at the dealership, only a little lower and with a much deeper and sharper shine.
The jury's still out on flames, but if I do go with flames, they will be ghost flames and very, very subtle. I would only do flames if they can only be seen if the light hits them just right. I still don't know if I'm going to do that, though, or what the design would be if I did.
