? for the catless guys!

I am looking at getting true duals on my truck (99 f-250) and was wanting to know if any of you had issues with the Check engine light after removing the cat?

Hello as for removing the cat you will be fine as long as you don't have an O2 sensor after the cat. But you might want to do more research about going to duals. From everything I've read on here that our Modular motors don't do good with duals. i'm sure someone else will chime in about that.

I had a problem because the truck is from California. I deleted it using the non fouler trick.

I bought my Excursion with a 3" single with a custom Y. It had an o2 sensor, but I removed from the system with my SCT tuner. I actually wish I had a Cat on mine as it would make it quieter. Just like my dogs, kids, motorcycles, etc.... I like to be seen and not heard. LOL

Time to search for a muffler, glass packs just sound like a pissed off 4 cylinder... I know I had read on here before that the V10 sounded like a V6 with the wrong muffler but I had to see for myself.. lol

What years do not have o2 after cat? Lots of YouTube with no cats but no details on set up or problems with them. Would lose mine when I put on new system if I was sure the check engine light would stay off. I know I got two o2 sensors in the y pipe of my Hedman headers upstream of cat. Not sure if there is one down.
Also not sure there could be too much flow past them for good reading if taken out.
Plan is Hedman headers and Gibson cat back.

Just crawl under and look :-) I suggest keeping your converters, they are helping the enviroment and have no affect on MPG and performance unless they are clogged. These V10s are the most pleasant on ears, and you will have tons of drone

The tune I got ( assume all 5Star tunes) takes the 2nd O2 offline in some way, or simulates its signal.
In any case I get no CEL without it. If you have a 5 Star tune, call Mike, but I'd bet thats built in.

When I put my new exhaust system on we removed that section of pipe with the rear O2 sensor completely and tied the 2nd O2 wire up out of the way.

I have read numerous places the V10 doesnt sound good with true duals, but I like the sound catless onto the single exit.
I hear many trucks these days with aggressive large dia single systems and I am liking that sound more than actual old school duals.
Thats just me.

There is no gain with duals. My duals are actually hurting my truck on top of the flow master. Stay 3"-3.5" single with a good straight through muffler and a mandrel bent tail pipe in the same size and a 4-5" tip.

Thinking of Gibson side swept system and keeping cat then. Dont want to get into a tune at this time and dont want to trick anything to keep CEL off.
