Red face Dumb Question - how to open Fuse Box

Hi there,

Really dumb question.

Took a quick look at my fuse box in my 2001 F-150 5.4L. It's on the driver's side under the hood.

Can't see how to open fuse box easily. Seems like it should pop open fairly easy but I did not want to force it. Looks like a latch or something I could pry at but don't want to bust it.

Can someone give me a hint here?

Put you fingers in the slot area provided and pull outward and sleightly downward firmly.
Then you will see how it's held in place.
Good luck.

FYI, if it helps, the "hinge" side, is the side closest to the front of the truck. I have a 2000, and I imagine it's probably the same.

That means, the side you want to grab and opens, is the side closest to the cab/firewall. It opens length-wise.

Thanks, It's more the manner it's closed (latched). I could not really move it easily bare handed and it seems like it would snap if you looked at it the wrong way. I did not want to start prying with a tool until I knew which way to move it.

Oh I just re-read your post. I was trying to open it from the hinged side. Duh. Thanks.
It's just that side looked like the latch.
