I was looking to swap a 96 12valve in my 75 highboy
Did u use the ford wireing for the motor.also did u use the original Gage's. I was looking on https://www.dieselconversion.com and also was wondering if those motor mount would fit with out to much fab work because I'm no the best with fab work. Thanks

If there was not much fab work I do not think this thread would be 105 pages.

I would stay far away from these diesel conversion companies. Look up the cummins swap motor mount thread in the engine swap section.
If you lack in the fabrication department nows a good time to learn. A little skill in welding and cutting will go a long way. I did 90% of the fab work on my truck with a mig and a plasma cutter.
Good luck.

Yes and no. It is a shorter intermediate shaft than stock. However I had my local driveline shop make me a new one with 1410 u joints and the correct output yoke for my nv4500hd.

Read the whole thread. It's a fantastic write up. Co does a great job explaining things and is great about documenting his work with photos. This is one of the best threads on this site, and a better read then most books you would pick up (for a gear head at least).
I don't plan on doing a 12V swap in my 79, but there are still a lot of great ideas on this thread. His ingenuity and craftsmanship is second to none.

I agree, stay away from the Diesel Conversion mounts. I'm using them in my truck, so I know from experience. They're plenty stout, but getting them to fit will require plenty of fab work to both the mounts and the cab as they locate the motor rediculously far back. If I were to start over, I'd fab my own. If you don't have the fab skills, make friends with someone on here who does. There are probably plenty of folks who have done it and kept the blueprints.

I agree. Not to put anyone down or sound condescending, but I hate farming things out. I have this issue with people messing with my projects.
