Tires '97 F150

I need a good set of all terrain/mud tires for a 97 F150, what is the biggest size I could fit without a lift? Thought about raising the torsion bars and then going to get an alignment, since I have to get one anyway. Suggestions on tire brand and where to shop welcome.

I am running Hankook DynaPro MTs with no lift and no torsion bar adjustment on a 98 F150 4x4. I don't remember exact size, but I will post it later today.

285's are the largest you can go on a stock lift. It will give it a tough look.

285/75/R16. As 00GT said, they do look pretty tough. As far as how well they are holding up, I really couldn't say because they were on the truck when I bought it. They have about 25% tread wear.

I am running the same size tires on my '01 4x4 and in my opinion, the tires fit the wheel wells very nicely

You'll love those tires. I've known several people who have had them and they held up great. My cousin got about 40k out of his and he was NOT easy on them. He's actually had them on 2 vehicles and has them on his Ranger now, but they are just about shot.
