1969 429 one piece fuel pump eccentric
<HR style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #999999; COLOR: #999999" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I have a 1969 429 Thunder Jet that I've had since 1971 and built it last year for my Cobra project. I replaced most internals including cam/timing chain/gear. I know for a fact that the one piece fuel pump eccentric did not have a Tab or hole in it - so I used locktite and torqued it down.
I'm in the process of installing the engine into the frame - however now - I'm uncertain of what to do. Do I need to rip the front of the engine off - and either Pin or drill / tap the one piece fuel pump eccentric to the cam gear? I've read else where that some of the first 429's did not have any tab or pins?
Last thing I want is for the pump to stop in the middle of no-where..... unless if it's fine then I'll leave it.
(it probably would take less time to tear it apart and fix it than to walk home from the middle of no-wheres)
