1969 429 one piece fuel pump eccentric

1969 429 one piece fuel pump eccentric

I have a 1969 429 Thunder Jet that I've had since 1971 and built it last year for my Cobra project. I replaced most internals including cam/timing chain/gear. I know for a fact that the one piece fuel pump eccentric did not have a Tab or hole in it - so I used locktite and torqued it down.
I'm in the process of installing the engine into the frame - however now - I'm uncertain of what to do. Do I need to rip the front of the engine off - and either Pin or drill / tap the one piece fuel pump eccentric to the cam gear? I've read else where that some of the first 429'sClick the image to open in full size. did not have any tab or pins?
Last thing I want is for the pump to stop in the middle of no-where..... unless if it's fine then I'll leave it.

(it probably would take less time to tear it apart and fix it than to walk home from the middle of no-wheres)

Suggestion?
Thanks - PJ
