decided against possible trade... someone talk me into keeping my truck lol

i found a guy that has a 1990 f250 4x4, 460, AOD.
1990 f250 - Edmonton Area Cars For Sale - Kijiji Edmonton Area Canada.

I think i decided that i need a bigger truck but i cant seem to make up my mind. i might be looking to trade my f150. any thoughts?

im getting 11-12mpg out of my f150 w/351 now which SUCKS but 33" tires and 3:55 gearing doesnt help. should i expect about the same from the f250 w/460? or worse lol

im basically looking to get into a 3/4ton to make it easier on the truck to haul my rzr around and possibly a camper. which makes the long box of the f250 nice.

would the 1990 460 be easier to work on then my 95 351? since the tranny isnt computer controlled thats one less issue. i was considering going to an older carb'd truck to get rid of the computers and make things even easier.

any thoughts?

The AOD never came behind the 7.5L engine from the factory. It's either a 3-speed C6 or a 4-speed E4OD.

It looks pretty rough. I wouldn't give over 1500 for it.

As for fuel milage, you should be HAPPY to see 11-12mpg
I just got back from a 250 mile ALL highway trip and I got 11 w my 460. Cruise set on 65, 3:55 gears, 35" tires and SLOW starts.

For the trans it will either have a E4OD or a C6. They NEVER put a AOD behind a big block.

Seriously? a 1000lb RZR is making your truck work hard?

It's not just the 1000lb rzr lol I like the looks of the truck better with the box but the rzr won't fit in the box. I intend to pull a camper as well next year and figured the 3/4ton would be a better option but if yin guys can talk me into keeping my truck please do lol.

Thought about a heavier set of leads for the back or helper springs... now the springs donto have much of a arch and when I load the rzr the *** end drops 3" and the springs are almost straight.

If there's any suggestions for that end of things I'd like to hear em.

Or any suggestions how to fit the rzr in the box

any suggestions for the rear suspension?
i have a 5leaf set out of an early bronco back there now but theres not much arc to them.

Helper springs

If you need to beef up the suspension, go with air helper springs... you can add some air to get the stock height when loaded, and then let some out so it doesnt ride like a hay wagon when you take your girl out for a ride.

For what it's worth, I constantly get 10 mpg with my '91 F250/460/E4OD, speed doesn't seem to make a difference. No cat, hi-flow muffler, intake restrictors removed, dragging about 5K lbs
