Shopping for SB Reg Cab

Shopping for SB Reg Cab
So it's time to add another Ford truck to the stable, not 100% sure what is out there, what was made etc that fits what I'm after.
I know I'm after a short box, regular cab, 4wd, but were these ever offered in F-250 or 350 versions? Prefer 92-97 but if I can get a tougher drivetrain going older I will. I guess what's the toughest factory SB, Reg cab, 4wb?
I have a feeling there all gunna be F-150s and either 4.9 or 5.0

There was never a RC SB available in anything other than an F150. Options are limited in a half ton. If you must have that setup, the toughest drivetrain will depend on your transmission preference. For an auto I suggest a 5.8 E40D(uncommon in a RC SB). However if a 5 speed is a must nothing beats a 4.9 ZF S-42.
What exactly do you plan on doing with the truck? You may want to think about a RC LB in a F250-350.
