front locker or L/S units

What locker or limited slip have you guys found that work good in the front axle? It is a f250 reg cab. Is a detroit alright in the front or should I do a good limited slip. It is a heavy truck running super swampers and a 4" lift and a auto. Detroit or powr lock or trutrac, what have you guys had good luck with and bad luck with?

I am going to need a different cqrrier or a thick cut gear and i was thinking that to swap carriers I would buy a L/S unit for the front. Like a Powr lock or trac lock.

you have a 60 or a 44?? some people say a lock right, especially on a 44, with big tires, can damage the carrier, has to do with the way they work. Lots of people run them without issue. Obviously if you are chaging carriers anyway no reason not to go to a carrier replacement style limited slip like the detroit or other. Personally I don't think I'd put a detroit in the front just because of how harsh the engagement is. The truetrac looks like its a true limited slip so it should be less harsh. Idk. what do you do with the truck? If you want to use 4hi like in winter you may want a selectable locker.

The lockrite is no sweetheart either. I personally love the rear locker-front limited slip combo.

Stay far away from a tru-trac, they are junk. I have a Powr-loc in my front 60 and as far as i'm concerened it's the best choice. It always turns both tires, has no bad manners and you can't feel a thing even it tight turns locked in.

Depends on what you are trying to achieve, off-roading or simply pulling...? But, like the previous poster said, your best set-up option is powr-loc in a d60.

I had my 60 welded because the only time it sees 4x4 is off road.
