A/C compressor Bracket?? 1975 f-250
I am restoring a 1975 ford f-250 360ci highboy that had factory ac. When i bought the truck the compressor was missing, all the other components are still there the heater core was bi-passed and blower motor not hooked up. I am getting a new compressor, heater core ect. to get the A/C going again. my guess is it looks like when they rebuilt the engine they didnt bother to hook up the ac correctly or the rebuilt engine didnt have the correct bracket . I cant find the bracket that the ac compressor would mount to. Can i get one aftermarket or does it mount to something already in the engine compartment and i just cant see it?? any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

There are actually three brackets needed for the factory setup, the actual mount for the compressor, the bracket that holds the idler pulley and a support that goes from the compressor to the drivers side exhaust manifold.
There are also two idler pulleys from the factory. One, the upper one, pivots and is used to adjust belt tension. The lower pulley is there to keep the belt from vibrating due to the long span between pulleys.
Here is an illustration from the Ford parts catalog showing the parts.
Click on the .pdf link below the pictures to view.
The two pulleys are basic p/n 8678
The bracket for the adj. pulley is 2888
The compressor mount is 2882
The support bracket is 2889
If you haven't ordered the compressor yet, consider converting to a Sanden style compressor. It's lighter, quieter, cheaper, and more efficient than the old York. You'll need to get the conversion bracket and still need the brackets and pulleys minus the support bracket and hoses will need to be custom made.

Besides the custom A/C hoses the only thing I did was to fabricate a bracket that would tie the pulley support bracket to the compressor. How this bracket is built depends on whether your original York was horizontal or vertical mount, mine was vertical.
I used a 709 compressor and I bought the compressor and adapter bracket from Nostalgic Air in Tampa, FL. http://www.nostalgicairparts.com/

1973/79 F100/350 & 1978/79 Bronco: There are THREE different types of A/C. The engine mount/drive parts, compressor and other parts are different with the 2 types of dealer A/C.
Factory installed integral A/C is combined with the heater. The A/C controls are located in the same panel as the heater controls.
1) Deluxe Dealer A/C is combined with the heater. The two A/C switches are located in the HUGE bezel that sweeps across the entire right side of the dash, covering up the glovebox.
There is a separate hang-on glovebox bolted to the bottom of the dash.
2) Economy dealer A/C is not combined with the heater, The two switches are located in a panel that also contains two registers. This panel fits into the dash to the left of the extant glovebox.

For your bracket try Old Air Products. They have a bracket kit for the 300 six, to use it you'll need to convert to the Sanden style compressor but, in my opinion, that's a very worthwhile modification and it's not too difficult or expensive. The Ford 300 I6 A/C bracketry is going to be harder to find .. You'll probably have more luck finding a fuel injected 300 I6 with serpentine belts and A/C .. You'll just have to do the whole serpentine belt conversion .. or like Mike said try Old Air products ..
