Anybody Wanna Go Fishin'?

Spring is here and the panfish should be starting to spawn. I'm dying to get out to the local lakes and try to catch my limit of crappie. Unfortunately I don't have a boat. Anybody wanna join me for an afternoon of crappie fishin? Where's a good place to catch crappie in N.E. OK?

Anybody Wanna Go Fishin'?

I'm in Owasso, right around the corner from that new superwalmart. I see by your profile that you're in Claremore. I love that little lake they got out there. I was just there a couple weeks ago testing the water. If ya'll wanna go fishing lemme know. I don't have a boat, but still love to bank fish. I've tried Skiatook sooo many times but rarely catch anything.

Wink Anybody Wanna Go Fishin'?

Hey CigarXTC

I got a boat. A 12' jonboat with a 3.3hp Mercury motor. And
I'm down south of ya in Broken Arrow. Hafta haul it in the bed
of my truck because I don't have a trailer. Know where I can
find a trailer for my 12' cheap? Wouldn't mind a fishin' buddy-
I'm off Mon.-Thur. and work weekend option, othw don't mind
gettin' up early and drowning some perfectly good worms.

Holler back soon.

Anybody Wanna Go Fishin'?

Heya White Knight,
There was a guy selling a small boat trailer on Main Street in Owasso a month or so ago. In fact he had a 50's ***** for sale too. Unfortunately I think he sold 'em both already.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for other trailers in the area.

You could try Morton Marine, here in Owasso. They deal with new and used boats and accessories.

Where do you usually take yer boat?

I don't have a work schedule right now, since I'm looking for full time work. I do have night school Tues & Thurs 530pm-930pm and Sat 10am-noon.) What are ya doing Wednesday or Thursday?

Ya, Grand Lake is huge. I know they also have HUGE catfish when using trotlines or limblines. But I don't like to travel too far to go fishing.

If anybody could tell me some good spots at Lake Oologah, I'd appreciate it!

If anybody everwants to go fishin', just shoot me an email. I check my messages everyday.

Talking Anybody Wanna Go Fishin'?

Well, I couldn't wait any longer for you guys to reply so I went up to Skiatook this morning. I only caught a 7" largemouth. The water looks like it's still 5 or 6 feet low. On the way home I stopped by an old farm pond at the end of a new subdivision that is being built around the corner from our house and caught fish after fish with every other cast. The pond was small so the fish were no larger than 4 or 5 inches. I can't remember what type of fish they are called. But it was fun at least catching something. I think next time I'll try Ooloogah Lake.

We've been slaying the largemouths at my pond lately, been running about 10-14". Roped a big cat but it broke my 20 pound test!

Unhappy Anybody Wanna Go Fishin'?

Talk about the cart before the horse...

One of my nephews picked up a small boat
trailer as scrap and gave it to me. So I get
it home and start fixing on it. Two days later
"Wilma" shows out and throws a rod. So I'm
dead on land and nowhere near the water,
but I'm piecing together things to put a 460
in her.

Now what am I gonna do 'til then is something
people who can't fish do to stave off the pain...
work!

Man I can't wait...

hey Cigar, try Redbud at Oologah the next time ur there, ive only fished it once, and it was cold as all get out, and didnt do well, but it sure looks like prime fishing area's, alot of brush, and horizontal cover (which the Largemouth just LOVE). Anyways, i was just there yesterday (Memorial day) and the water is way up, i didnt fish though, just out for a nice day on the water in the boat w/ some friends. I wouldnt mind meeting ya out there sometime though, just lemme know.

Thanks Traxxis. Is that Redbud marina? I've tried bank fishing Oolagah several times near the sail boat marina with no luck. I've got to try the north sides next time. Someday I'm gonna have a boat or at least a boat buddy. I was just out there a few weeks ago with my buddy and his seadoo. What a blast. That thing hauls butt! I was sore for 3 or 4 days after riding that thing. I was holding on for dear life because I did not want to fall in that murky water. Yukkk. I'm always up for a trip outdoors, especially if it's to a lake!

Ya man, lol, those sea-doos are a blast, specially when i get on one alone, man, i weigh about 135, lol, those things really go then. Ya, Redbud Marina, out on what, 88, or 20 maybe, i cant remember which one it is, but from Claremore, its about 2 or 3 miles before the dam. Good luck man, maybe one day we can meet up out there. Oh, and ya, lol, im STILL sore from tubing on monday.
