F150 models
Hi All,
New to the forum and learning a lot about the EcoBoost. Been reading about them for a while and test drove one last weekend. Seems like a good solution for ecomomy and towing.
My question is about the available models that Ford is offering with the options I want.
It seems the lowest trim package to get a 4x4 with a 6-1/2ft bed, a 3.73 axle ratio and the EcoBoost is the FX2, which is rated at 9,700 lb towing. Can't seem to get that combo in the XL, STX or the XLT. Problem is that puts the price at over $40k, and I'm not that interested in the bells and whistles.
Is this correct, or am I missing something.
Also, whats the difference between an Electronic locking rear differential, a non limited slip and a limited slip rear end??
Thanks much.

Frank, welcome to FTE!
Check out this site: WWW.Ford.com. You can build and price and gather all the info t hat your mind can stand.
The only trim levels that the ecoboost is NOT available in are the STX, Raptor and the Harley Davidson trucks. You can get an XL or XLT with the ecoboost and gearset that you want.
Lastly, I'm moving this to the 2009+ forum for better exposure as it's t he beginning of a great thread.

Thanks! I already got lost at the Ford Site. Guess the detail I left out was wanting a extended cab, not a SCREW cab. It limits the rear end ratio or the bed size or the availablity of the EcoBoost.
