i own a tree service, and am going to be buying another chip truck here shortly. I am looking at an associate’s F-650 that he’s selling tomorrow afternoon, and wondering what I should be looking out for in this particular model. It’s a 2006, Cat C7 plant, and 60k miles on it.
Look for external coolant leaks on the front upper of the block on the passenger side. The blocks crack at the head bolt location. Take a peek at the water pump see if it has been greased as required and see if all the spin on filters are genuine CAT. This will help determine the quality of the maintenance.
