T18 yoke compatibility

I just put a t18 out of probably an 80s model truck, and the yoke ended up being for a bigger ujoint. I think 3 5/8. I pulled off the yoke from my old transmission, and it wouldn't go all the way in the other transmission. The old yoke had splines all the way to end and other did not. Is there anything I can do to resolve this, like changing the end piece?

A better picture would of helped. Most the time the front yoke from the new mating drive line has to be welded onto the front of your old drive line. Ford used sometime a 1310 & 1330 u-joints to mate up larger yokes.

As can't make out the part you posted.

I can get a better pic, but not sure what your looking for. I need the smaller ujoint, but the yoke out of the earlier model transmission won't slide all the way into the later model transmission. It appears because the splines come to the end. The latter model yoke will go all the way into the earlier transmission though.

Ford used to make a hybrid u-joint. Part number was C5TZ4635F. It was a 1310/1330 hybrid. 3-1/4" across two ends and 3-5/8" across the other two. Aftermarket world prolly carries it to. Or:
