My 2001 F350 tow truck will not start just cranks. We have noticed that the wait to start light does not come on and we believe that is what is causing it not to start. If you monkey with it long enough the light comes on as usual and the truck starts with no problem. It would only take a couple key turns for the light to come back on but the last couple days it has taken a good 15 mins. It also stalled on me going about 40mph and i stopped on side street and waited maybe 5 mins and it started back up once light came on and ran fine. Do you guys have any ideas?

Is the rpm gage needle moving when cranking? If not, possible cps.
Has the in-tank mod been done? Possible screens clogging.

 

Did you check to make sure the fuel pump is turning on? I had this problem it ended being the fuel pump fuse in the engine compartment.

 

We finally had some more time to mess around with it. Found it to be the PCM relay under the hood. Hopefully that's all it is but we will continue to monitor this. Thanks for all the suggestions!
