Secret to re-installing door panels on '89 F150?
I replaced the door speakers. It seems you have to slide the door handle through the panel first, then you must fight to pressure from the handle to slide the top of the panel over the metal door body. Problem is that the little metal clips that hold the rubber trim along the top edge of the panel catches on the door's metal body and bends the clips holding the trim and it comes loose I tried removing the door handle and re-installing it after the door panel was slipped over the door body, but screwing the handle back on with the door panel was in place was so close to impossible that I gave up! All the plastic door panel clips that hold the panel to the door body seem to grab their holes at all the wrong times Grrrrr!

Problem is that the little metal clips
>that hold the rubber trim along the top edge of the panel
>catches on the door's metal body and bends the clips holding
>the trim and it comes loose
Take that rubber trim piece off.
Make sure that the plastic pieces(I think there are about 10) that hold the panel to the door are attached to the panel. Slip the door handle through the hole in the door panel. You may have to push up on the panel to get the top of the panel over the door lock rod. Now push at all of the places where the plastic pieces to hold the panel were. Everything should be pretty snug and you can now screw in the couple of screws and then add teh rubber trim piece.
Have fun.
