Question Wheel well molding

Anyone know where I can find the chrome/rubber wheel well moding for my 96 250? I bought a set from LMC, but they are garbage, way smaller then the OEM and won't cover the footprint or the originals.

I went through the exact same situation. You get what you pay for. The best ones come from Dennis Carpenter but they are expensive. NPD also sells them, but I believe you can't get a whole set from them anymore.

Fronts $88.00 each, rears $89.00 ea. but they are exact from Ford molds. DC caters to the restorer that requires perfection. This can be a bit expensive for the hobbyist/daily driver.

(sigh) Available from Ford!
Please, when asking questions, list all the pertinent info: Which side? Front or rear?

Note: These wheel opening mouldings do not come with the vinyl side mouldings (if so equipped). Side mouldings sold by themselves, were available in different colors.

Same "bright/black" wheel opening mouldings: 1987/96 F150/350 / 1987/96 Bronco (front only) / 1997 F250/350 / Only mouldings for your application listed in the Ford truck parts catalog.

E7TZ-16038-B .. R/Front Wheel Opening Moulding.

MSRP: $180.10 // FTE Ford Dealer Parts Dept sponsor tousleyfordparts.com price: $118.87.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
E7TZ-16039-B .. L/Front Wheel Opening Moulding.

Same prices as above.
----------------------
E7TZ-9929164-A .. R/Rear Wheel Opening Moulding.

MSRP: $116.52 // tousleyfordparts.com price: $76.90.
-----------------------------------------------------
E7TZ-9929165-A .. L/Rear Wheel Opening Moulding.

MSRP: $132.02 // tousleyfordparts.com price: $87.13 / Tousley Ford ~ White Bear Lake MN

btw: DC may be selling these exact same genuine Ford mouldings. If so, probably bought dozens of each from FoMoCo awhile back before the prices changed.

Not all of the parts listed in DC catalogs are repops. DC made "a deal" with FoMoCo, can buy parts cheaper from them, than the 1000's of franchised FoMoCo dealers can.

I bought real Ford ones from NPD a few years back. They don't have the rubber insert. Before that I had repop ones and they sucked.

Parts catalog pic shows no black vinyl moulding attached to wheel opening mouldings for 1987/96.

Just the wheel opening mouldings I typed are listed/shown for OP's application, there's nothing else.

1980/86: Vinyl side mouldings butt up to ends of wheel opening mouldings (mouldings mount above the wheel opening) but are not part of them.

You know, it just occurred to me that the OP's truck could have aftermarket body side mouldings.

Dealers had these installed to dress up PJ trucks, then "laid customers away" by charging a bundle for them.

There was a dealer here in Bellflower (Ford West, formerly Hensley-Anderson Ford) that did this for years. Then when the trucks went into body shops, no one had a clue who supplied/installed the mouldings.

A pic is worth 1000 words.

Not to argue the point, but, My 97 OBS F-250HD XLT has the exact molding Brad posted the picture of.. And I know for a fact they ARE factory!!!!!!!

They are bright aluminum with a black vinyl/rubber strip showing... As matter of fact here they are.....

Yes, I know it's due a wash job and tires.... Those Michelins have over 85,000 on them.

I never said any such thing!

I said the OP's mouldings could be aftermarket. Some dealers had chrome/vinyl mouldings installed on Plain Jane trucks that didn't come with mouldings to "dress them up."

The thing is: The 1980/89 & 1990/2001 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalogs do not show or make mention of...a rubber or vinyl backing attached to these mouldings.

All it says is: bright/black. This is a p!ss poor description to use on the net, because it does not define what/where 'black' is.

I don't have one of these trucks to look at in person, so can only go by the parts catalog description.

My 95 S.Cab parts truck had the rubber (more like plastic) backing as well.
