Has anyone done the firmware update the their X3 or SF3?? I have custom tunes on mine from Mike at 5 star and I just want to make sure it won't delete any of my custom tune files from him when I do the update. I was going to call him tomorrow but I might try it tonight if anyone knows

 

i'm not 100% sure and i don't have custom tunes but i think you are NOT supposed to update it.

 

Its late but an email may be best for quicker response. I know I answer the email before the phone call, but then again I aint as good as Mike.

 

do not update your tuner!!!! Mike has custom tunes and it wont do nothing but mess up you X3, leave it alone and dont worry about it

 

i updated my sct from mike and it erased all the tunes, but after a quick phone call, an email, an email back from him with tunes i had them back and truck re-tuned in a matter of 10 minutes. no big deal

 

I keep a copy of my files in back-up on my PC. That way should anything happen to them or the programmer I still have them.

And from what I understand Mike keeps pretty good records of programs he has created I've always heard of him send people copies.

But I would defiantly talk to Mike before possibly messing up my investment.

 

Always restore your vehicle back to stock before updating the firmware on the tuner, just as a precaution. And I would recommend you save your customs tunes on a back up drive like a flash drive or your computer.
