F-250 front axle swap

I have a 92 Ford F-250 DEISEL WITH A DANA 50 IFS. I GETTING READY TO SWAP THE FRONT AXLE FOR A DANA 60. I AM PLANNING ON GETTING THE AXLE ASSEMBLY FROM A JUNKYARD COMPLETE WITH SPINGS AND ALL THE STEERING COMPENTS FROM THE PITMAN ARM DOWN. MY QUESTION IS WHICH YEAR TRUCK WOULD BE BEST FOR THE SWAP? AND IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I NEED TO REMOVE FROM THE DONARE VECHILE? ALSO IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO MODIFY BEFORE THE AXLE WILL FIT?

Use a '92 - '96 donor vehicle, and be prepared to pay a lot of money. Make sure you get the track bar and mounting bracket, and also the driveshaft (it's shorter). Everything will bolt right in.

I really doubt you'll need to lift it at all. I have 6" lift with a Dana 60, and my axle housing doesn't even come close to touching the crossmember when I go off-roading.

F-250 front axle swap

Iam currently doing this swap my self on a 97 F-250 diesel and the info I ve found is 80-97 Dana 60 years are compatable and if you use the F-350 springs you will also need the 4 inch spacer blocks for the rear axle as well as the Trackbar. We MAY also need longer shocks and brake lines. As far as cost it can be high or low depends what you find myself I found a complete junkyard Dana 60 with the proper ratio, trackbar and brakes for 400 dollars. I found that the Danas in the junk yards are more reasonably priced. Good luck.
