Crown Victoria suspension on Ford PU's

I have heard of putting the front suspension clip from a 2003 Crown Victoria under an older (1960's to 1070's) Ford F100 Pick Up. My question is will this swap also work on an 1982 Ford F150?

What kind of goals are you trying to get with a swap like that?

Crown Victoria suspension clip

It greatly lowers the front end avoiding all the steering geometry hassles.

I don't get how welding a completely different front end from a car onto your truck is going to make anything less of a hassle...

There is a company called DJM that sells drop beams called "Dream Beams" that lower the front of our year trucks.

There was a thread a while back where someone did it and did a write up. The search function isn't great here but give that a try. Maybe one of the lowrider guys will remember it and help find it.

Front suspension clip

As I understand it the CV front suspension is a modular one piece clip that is a direct bolt on for the older F-100s. The idea is to take the front end of the PU down to the frame, remove the crossmember and bolt the suspension clip to the now naked frame.
As I stated my question is will it work on an '82 F-150?

I saw a diagram where the crown vic suspension was 66 inches wide. Get your measuring tape out, how does that compare to your 82 Ford?

This would be a great swap if it would work. A clean way to get rid of the oddball twin I beam setup, and way cheaper than those beams.
