Exclamation clutch problem

Hi i have a 1989 F-250 7.3 idi i have had trouble getting it in reverse ever since i got it and here lately first is becoming hard to get in gear it has a new clutch so that couldn't be the problem the clutch engages with the pedal about one inch of the floor i have noticed that the springs on the dual mass flywheel are very loose and do rattle during idle i was wondering if the flywheel could be causing all of my problems. all responses would be appreciated.

I dont have much experience on the DMF, but if your clutch master/ slave are getting weak with the new pressure plate in there, you are likely not disengaging the clutch all the way. Mine does this, more noticable when cold. Could be a poor quality pressure plate causing this as well. The arm on the end of the clutch pedal shaft is adjustable some, you could try tightening it up. How much free play do you have in the pedal?

the slave cylinder is new and you have to push the pedal about an inch from the floor before it engages it has pressure the whole time i have heard that the flywheel could cause this and it dosnt matter if it is hot or cold it has a rear seal leak so i was planning on fixing whatever is wrong with it while i have the transmission out because that thing is a PITA to get out

Check the pedal bushing (under the dash) and check the firewall around the master cyl for cracking/flexing.
