Wont start warm

Need advice on a 1972 F250. Truck wont start reliably after driving. No problem starting cold.

It could be "heat soak". I have this same problem with one of my Ford V8's. The engine heat makes the carb too hot and the gas percolates inside the carb. It actually cause gas to be forced into the manifold while the engine is off. Effectively floods it. It starts fine if it sits for an hour or two and cools off a bit. One solution might be a thick insulating carb gasket. Or, if the engine has a heated carb spacer on it now, first try disconnecting the hoses and bypassing the spacer. I hope this helps.

Replace the coil.

When I lived in Texas, I had that issue with my 69. I tried several things, to no avail. I put a 2 bbl. Holley on and problem solved.
