88 F250 inner U joint on front suspension

How do I remove the inner U joint on the front suspension on the driveshaft that runs from the drivers side to the passenger side? I realize its a clip on the inside but mine is so rusted I am having an extremely hard time getting it out. Any ideas or tricks?

That joint rarely goes bad... if it ain't broke, dont fix it. I think you are trying to do it with the axle still in the truck, right?

Easiest way is to drop the 3rd member out so you can remove the c clip that holds the axle shaft in. That way you wont have to mess with pressing it in and out while its still in the truck

Problem is I did a swap from 2wd to 4wd on an F250 and I need to get the axle back together and the only way I will be able to do that is to pull that U joint out so I can get the axles to line back up properly.

What are you trying to line up by taking that joint apart?

I got the axle in two peices so inorder to get the driveshaft from the drivers side to slide over the driveshaft running to the passenger side it looks like I am going to have to take the U joint apart so I can make sure it slides in there properly.

I'm confused. You are talking about the pass side axle only, right? it has an inner and outer part. Did it come apart at the splines ? Does it have a lift kit on it?

No. The u joint directly to the right Of the slip yoke and stub shaft as seen in the picture in the link

I need to get the slip yoke to go back over the right shaft. After trying for quite a while it seems i need to remove that u joint so I can slide the slip yoke over the right shaft.

If I'm following you, the slip yoke came apart and the rest of the axle is still intact. That shouldnt happen unless something is very wrong withh your front end. To put it back together, remove the caliper, rotor, spindle, then the outer axle can be removed and splines re-engaged. To change the inner ujoint cut it out with a torch, beat out the old parts, clean up the yolks, and install a new ujoint.
