who would be interested in c-notch kits?

I have a local guy that I do paint work for and I just found out today that he has a full CNC plasma cam and cnc break. I was talking with him about doing custom stuff for this series trucks from 65-79 and he is confident that we could fab something up and mass produce it. I have 2 trucks one that is a 65 and one 70 so those are what would be used for the templates as prototypes and fitment. Now I am not sure that all the frame rails are the same to 79 so if someone knows please feel free to chime in.

They would run approximately $60-100 (and thats a rough ball-park)

I am not making this thread to sell anything yet and when the time comes I will make the proper account to become a vendor. I would just like to see what the market and demand would be like for the c-notch kits.

Now the kit is still in debate whether it would be strictly bolt on or weld-on. I am a firm believer in weld-on would be 100% safer than bolt-on, but that is why I am here looking for opinions. In the kits it would allow a 1/4" or 3/16" thick notch section to be installed and a boxing plate 3/16", for boxing in that notched part of the frame, all already cut and ready to be welded on or bolted on. We projected we could make and possibly sell them for $60-100, give or take a few $, in raw metal. Bolted on would be much like the belltech kits for 87-96 F150's that have a backing plate that gets bolted to the inside of the frame rail. Then all you would need to do is buy the axle flip kit from AIM that includes the axle saddles to put the leafs under the axle and new u-bolts and spring plates.

this is the belltech kit on my 89 F150 for reference:

Kind of hard to see the inside plate but I can get better pics if there's enough interest.

Please post and offer all opinions as this will take a little while to compile all the much needed info and if everyone could spread the word as well to help with anything we might not know. On the plus side of things, it would be a kit much cheaper than the FatmanFab "Bolt-on" kit thats is $579.99 plus shipping and with theirs you still need new u-bolts and spring plates that run around $60 if you buy them alone instead in a kit.

I would be interested, depending on price. Bolt in would be nice. I'd bolt them in then take the chassis to get them welded in.

When you get these in production, how 'bout the pieces required to mounting the CV front cross member?

I could probably figure something out. I don't know what is required and what needs to be moved or how or where the notch would need to be. At this point I am pretty set on making it strictly weld on as its simple and a lot safer.

Someone with a plasma table should reproduce bucket seat brackets... the shop drawings are already available... program and go.

Send them flat at a lower cost and have the end user bend them up. Or charge a bit more for them to be pressed.

This thread was started on 7-27-12 His last post was on 10-28-13,

Hey HIO, BillW out of Arizona has reproduced the bucket seat brackets. He has them for the 64 65 66 as well as for the Bump years 67 68 69 possibly correct for the 70 71 72 not 100% sure on that.

Yeah... I'm good with seat brackets. Gots two OEM sets for my bump and dent. Was just looking for a lower buck option. Ya see, competition would be good for "the market".

Still waiting for someone else to repro these. Interestingly enough, one arrived at my house the other day... Get it?:

Why would it matter when he last posted?? I post maybe 3 times a year. I figured it gave him enough time to either start producing or trash the idea.

I think gangstakr was merely pointing out the fact that there didn't appear to be any follow up on the idea and it eventually went nowhere.

Sometimes web-based communications don't have nuances or are so implicit that the true intent is subject to wide interpretation.

I suggest sending a PM to the OP since there hasn't been a response.

As was pointed out, send the OP a PM If you want to scroll through all his posts you might come up with an answer. I did not see one. If you bring up an old post, no telling if the OP is still on board. I tried to give you a little information regarding the OP letting you know when he last posted.
Since you posted your question, has the OP responded? Now you know to send him a PM.
Kind of like waiting in a ghost town for a bus to come, maybe it will then again, maybe it won't.
Oh by the way, your welcome.
