XM radio questions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tried a search but not a lot of related posts in the Audio section.
I got used to XM in my other car, so I am wanting it in my truck. I want to do a portable docking unit, so I can use it in the house or other vehicles.
Anyone got experience with portable XM in a vehicle? I am looking at this one: XM XpressRCi Dock & Play satellite radio at Crutchfield Outlet
Antenna mounting Use roof mounted antenna with magnet doesn't seem to have good feedback, plus I worry about it scratching paint. Any good solutions to this one?

I've had a portable Sirius unit in my wife's Saturn Outlook for 4 years. I snaked all the wires through the headliner and have the antenna (magnetic) stuck in the back on the roof (it's almost unnoticeable). The antenna doesn't move so I'm not worried about the paint. Plus, in the event that it did scratch it, nobody's going to see it.
I have the Sirius unit itself wedged up above the rear view mirror and ran the power wire up the A pillar.
On my old 2000 SD, I snaked the wires up out the 3rd brake light and onto the roof for my XM and Navigation. Here's a pic of it:
