F350 Crew Cab transplanted onto an F-SuperDuty (F450)

While I was at the local “certified road tested parts” yard the other day, I notice what is left of an F-Super Duty (F-450). A long wheelbase frame and some body parts were about the only thing still there. It got me to thinking. I would like to extend the frame of my 1996 F350 crew cab so it would take a custom built bed. I asked the price and it’s reasonable. The question is: Will my crew cab and front end fit on the F450 frame? There is that little hump in the frame where the back end of the cab ends and I wondering if that might be a problem in mounting my cab on the F450 frame? Has anyone done this type of transplant – I thinking the rest of my “stuff” should bolt up the frame? Drive lines, wiring, plumbing would need to extended a bit etc. Are there any project “killer” issues that make this impossible?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

About the length of the cab and where the frame changes height, I have no idea, but you might be able to solve that with a body lift. Also, I believe the frame width is different on the cab&chassis vehicles.

it all depends on what year your truck is, but i will say most likely no, because the superduty F-450 is a different frame than the 87-87 f-350 uses.
