Collie Radoooo 2013????
Was talkin ta Chadly the other day. He's turned inta a zombie. But I hope the doc gets him un zombied fore I haveta break out the zombie ammo. My Bobo has a zombie dog. Yup. Dog died and when they went out ta get him burried, he was up walkin around.
Chadly always said when the zombies attached he was gonna go ta Collie rado for his final stand. Since we don't have a Collie rado trip planned this year Chad an I was talkin bout doin it next year. Sure sounds like a bunch o zombie stuff goin on so's we need ta get this planned.
Seems my body has not been able ta work up in the mountains for the last 4-5 years. I do love to go but it hurts me. I'm working on that though and maybe I can do another mountain trip next year. They say some of us week old flatlanders need to stay down about 8000 ft. and then just go up and play at 10-12 thousand during the day. It'll be warm and lots of bugs down at 8000 so I'd need to stay in a roomin house of some kind.
Buena Vista is 8000 ft. and has cabins I always wanted to try out. Folks could share a 2 bedroom cabin with a sleeper sofa and split the cost 2-3 ways and make it some what affordable. Welcome to Thunder Lodge - Buena Vista, Colorado
Ridgeway north of Ouray is 7,000 ft. Lots to do in Ouray. But it'd be a bit higher I think. There is a KOA with cabins north of Ouray at about 7700 ft. Those cabins are just one room sleep inside cabins and don't have a kitchen or bathroom like the ones in Buena Vista. They sleep 4 and are $65.
Riverside Inn (formally Polly's) in Ouray is another option. They have rooms, sleeper cabins, and deluxe cabins with kitchens and baths. Likely have to call this year to find out when the deluxe cabins are available next year if folks wanted to share one. Ouray Riverside Inn and Cabins
Any other ideas for pre zombie invasion Collie radie trip. Just think of those cool high mountain streams and patches of snow to play in.

I have decided that CO is my big trip for next year- I am really thinking of doing Iron Chest- Holy Cross City- Tincup-(of Course) and maybe Mt. Princeton, Chinaman Gulch, Redcone, Georgia or Misquito?
I will most likely have to camp- $$$$ being the big issue.
Still a long ways away (about a year) allot can happen between now and then!

Nice thing about Ouray is there is lots of stuff to see an do fer womin folk. They kin go shoppin and go swinnin in the hotsprings with the little uns. Course it's on the far corner o the state and take longer more $$'s ta get to.
Buena Vista is closer. But not as much to do close. The womin folk kin travel a bit ifin they like the Royal Gorge ur South Park.
Thing is ta try ta git the womin folk ta join in with the ok fer the $$$'s ta stay in a roomin house in town. Least thats the idear I had.
I may be able to camp up high next year but I just won't know for a while yet.
One plan I had before was to drive from Wichita to Canyon City. The American Inn there had rooms for $30 a night sun-thurs. They ain't the hilton but were clean and had a micro wave and fridge in most rooms. I might just do a long weekend. Stay in Canyon City thursday night. Then get up and drive to St. Elmo for a trail friday afternoon. Say Mt. Princeton. Then down to town for the $65-$70 a night stuff for friday and saturday night. Trails on saturday and sunday and back down to Canyon City and the American Inn on sunday night. Figure ifin Clint and Garrett join me and split the cost of a cabin it'd be $165 a night split 3 ways. Then ifin we wanted ta go white water raftin ur ta the Royal Gorge ur shoppin we could on monday. Ur just drive back ta the home place.

well, to be honest, last time we went over tin cup pass, there was a ford taurus sitting at the top with a broken radiator. However we have yet to try iron chest, and that was one we sat at the bottom of and pondered but never did. Some of the trails are little more than a car road, some that we want to do will require larger tires, lockers, etc..
I don't know how a carbed vehicle would do Jack might know. probably would be alot of adjusting. Perhaps find another carb for it and have it set up for high altitudes. It might need to be rejetted for it. There surely has to be information on stuff like that somewhere on the internet.
