Seat question

Do the leather seats on the new super duties come with cooled leather seats. In 08 I know they came out with heated but you don't need that if you live in AZ.

If they do would the conversion be the same as what BuiltFordTough! did with the 08 heated seats or do cooled seat work differently?

I bet a person that owns one would know. And I bet if you posted in a forum where newer owners hang out, they'd probably answer your question. Say, a forum like the Super Duty forum or the 6.7L diesel forum.

It's just a guess.

yes, the newer seats come with heated and cooled

You can do it the easy way or hard way. Easy way is to simply wire them in and let the seat pull "cooler" air from the cab surroundings.

Hard way is to run a/c ducting under the carpet to the intake port of the fan. This lets "cold" air be blown on your behind.

Loved the seats in my Expy when they worked. Kinda loud though. Like a fan right in your ear when in fast speed though. Could only stand them in slow speed because of the fan noise.

The Heated/cooled seats are standard on the King Ranch and higher trim and are optional on the Lariat trim as part of the Lariat Interior Package and the Lariat Ultimate Package.

Or you can just wait until the nuke mechanic and the man who makes Blackwater look like the Boy Scouts post up and answer ya.

if you've never experienced the a/c seats before...beware a hot day while being active.

lets just say it's a little disconcerting to hop in there all sweaty and have all that cold air going to your nether regions. kinda like putting your favorite frosty beverage between your legs while driving.

I'll have to test drive one of the newer trucks to see if I would like it or not. I just can't stand my leather seats I have right now (but don't real want cloth either). It feels like my back and rear end have been a sauna by the time I get home .

Also, which is is better to do if you want to reduce the noise...

the seats are noisy any way you put them. slow speed fans fade into the ambient noise while driving. fast and medium speed are noticeable.

as for doing it the "hard" or "easy" way, that is really only for your temperature preference. easy won't be as cool..same temp as ambient temp inside the cabin. hard will be whatever the temp of the air blowing out the vents on the dash

If I could do it in mine and it be somewhat affordable I would do it in a second. I think it feels great when you are hot and you crank those seats up. You get in with a sweat going it cools you off twice as fast.
