Whats your 460 get?

Hey guys. I filled up Roxanne yesterday and was plesantly surprised at my mpgs! I got 11.5 on the nose Thats the most Iv ever got! I guess those "free" mods you can do to these ol 460s are well worth the effort! I cut the air horns (did this before I realized its a common practice), advanced timing to 12*, and removed the air pump (not recommended if you have to get checked. Also had to pay $15 for new belt). I know my speedo is right and all that good stuff. I almost didnt get this truck because of that massive 460 but now Im never lookin back!

Whats your 460 get? Put some info in there too (auto or manual, 2wd or 4wd, gears, and terrain you drive on)

93 4x4 5spd , has 4:10 gears. Mostly stock truck, average 12-14 highway, 7-8 city. Rarely get over 60 on highway, mostly old 2 lane highways. Drive it pretty easy, use cruise when possible. Previous owner did put on a larger exhaust and mentioned cat might have been gutted. Don't know what that does for mileage.

97 F250HD 4x4, 460, E40D, 3.55 gears, currently running Bridgestone Dueler APT IV's in 265/70/16, everything else is stock.

Last time I checked I was getting a bit over 10 towing the wheelers on my flatbed trailer. Didn't do anything to it but lately i've been doing a few little things to try and help with mpg but I knew coming in that mpg would not be great.

Cut out the airhorns, switched to synthetic oil, going to swap out the exhaust soon and will do the 12* timing change as soon as a I buy a new timing light.

97 f350 speed density, E4OD, 4x4, 4.10 gears, 235/85R16 tires

13* on the timing, Headman Headers, 3 in exhaust all the way with cat, cut horns, 1000 mile on a tune up.

I get 8 all city.

Still got 2 codes to fix though.

It is an open forum, its just one the questions that gets asked a lot. Think there is another current thread called "old 250" that asks about the same thing.

Brads right...this topic comes up VERY often..sure you can post as you like, but it makes it absolute hell trying so search for a topic later when there are sooo many things that keep being covered with similar keywords.

'90 F250 supercab 4x4 C6 3.55ls. Empty it's probably around 12-13 if I keep it to 55 or under. When I moved I averaged roughly 5 mpg over the course of 1200 miles towing a 10,000lb load over a bunch of mountains. Once with a tail wind and really babying it it was 15.

Im not trying to be one of those guys that posts their every thought but when I get on and the only threads are "My trucks broke, how man I fix it", its kinda boring. 9 out of 10 problems, I dont have, and try to make it a little funner on here by asking an opinionated question or similar
