Billstein or Rancho 9000 or Fox

Suggestions on shocks. On another note, my dad was riding with me this weekend when I hit a bump in the road going 55mph. He couldn't believe the shaking in the front end. I said its hard to believe a $60k truck has a death wobble. Hopefully from what I'm seeing that the shock upgrade will help.

what I get out it the death wobble has to do with 20 inch tires and the rancho shocks installed together. or am I wrong?

I have 18 inch tires standard shocks and not have experience this yet?

Ha! This is the same issue I've been having w/ my 2012 since day one. Ford has worked on it twice and it's still the same. Just this morning I ordered 4 Bilstein 5100's and a Bilstein steering damper. Can hardly wait till they arrive. The trucks terrible wobble has ruined my driving experience. Hope this new set up fixes the issue...

FYI: Got 4 shocks & damper from ajusa.com for 388.00. They were on sale w/free shipping.

I have the 20 inch wheels and the "Rancho" shocks and haven't had any issues with it at all. Not sure what combination of things is causing this. I do know that on my 2005 F-250 and on this '11 F-350, I've had the snow plow prep package on both. I'm not necessarily saying that's why I haven't had the wobble but it is one of the similarities between two trucks I've owned that didn't have the wobble.

^ I have the plow package and get the wobble real bad. Tried diffrent tire pressues, tire rotations, new front bushings (ford replaced), 2 alignments, and caster/camber adjustments. Still unbearable. My fingers are crossed that these new shocks/damper setup work.

Fox would cost more more and could be valved to how you want them and that is all i can say for them but they are a very very nice shock but i have not tryed them. Now the difference between Bilstein and Rancho i have tryed them both. If you like a stiff ride and not be able to adjust them the bilstein will work just fine. They are a nice shock, but i liked the rancho 9000's much better as you can set them how you want so you can get the ride just how you want. They ride much smoother then the bilstein and there warranty is fantastic as it is a life time warranty. So i would recmond going with the Rancho 9000's

The death wobble cure as found by EpicCowlick, is to install dual steering stabilizers on the front end.

ajusa.com is showing steering damper on back order? Was that the case for your order? Just curious...if it was...how long they give it???

20 inch wheels here too, and no death wobble. BUT, went and looked at Icon and Carli lift kits today, so, Hopefully I wont have to deal with any wobble in the NEAR FUTURE

I have 67,000 miles and decided to swap out shocks, I looked at both the Bilstien and Rancho 9000s. In June Rancho had a $100 rebate if you bought, So I bought those and installed them. They ride just fine, I've got mine set at the middle setting and doubt that I ever crawl under the truck to change the settings. Or at least not very often.

I figured either shock would give me better performance than the stock shocks and it came down to the better price for the Ranchos.
