My point with the mud drag is that I do have experience in mud and have built a variety of vehicles that all go and play in outdoors on a variety of different tires. And if he wants a solid all around tire that will dig and doesn't want to spend alot of money which was one of the OPS concerns than for 600 shipped to your door you can't get much better.

I'm just saying, most people(myself included) would rather spend more on a better tire than run the military stuff.

A good A/T tire is best suited for the daily driver/ocational off roader. Like the Faulken wild peak A/T. It comes in a 37, and has a 50,000 mile rating. I've used them before, and they did everything a military tire would, and some things better.

I will add this, not that it is worth much. I ran 11R16 Michelin XLs on my CUCV M1008 and I have never had a tire that I LOVED more than that tire for driving on the road. They were so balanced and drove so smooth and straight I was in love with them on the road. They were wayyyy to stiff for any kind of rock stuff off road and didn't do great in the mud but they fit the truck so well and looked so cool that I didn't care.

Heck ya! 40" 12.5R20 tires for under $1000.

I am looking for a tire for on and off road. My truck is my DD, but I do like to play a little sometimes. Terrain around here is sand, mud (thick black), and clay. I was thinking maybe iroks, or toyo mt's.

Now my next question: How much difference is there b/t 39.5's and 40' military?

Also the question is which is better. Continental Non directional, or the Michelin XL Radial?
