I bought all of the rubber for my truck from LMC. Trying to save a couple bucks. Wind shield rubber and vent window seals and gas neck grommet fit very poorly, but I made them work. The rest was OK. I would shop elsewhere in the future. JMO

I have used Midfifty and Dennis Carpenter. I highly recommend the hollow core door seals that Midfifty carries (may be sold elsewhere as well but I bought mine from MF), they seal great and the doors are much easier to close.

I'll second the hollow core seals. I got mine from Mid-Fifties.

I had installed a new set of door seals from LMC a couple of years ago, but have always had trouble getting the doors to close. I recently removed the stock seals and installed some seals like these that I picked up at Home Depot.

These seals are very soft and shouldn't interfere with the door closing, however you probably want to stay away from pressure washers like those used at touch-free car washes. Probably not a good idea on these old trucks anyway; they weren't terribly air/water tight even when they were new.

I don't think MF has the hollow seals for a 51. I have them in my 55 and they are the shiznit.

What type of glue/mastic, if any?

I use 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive (black). Make sure it is the "super" not the plain stuff. Incredible glue.....I use it for lots of other things to....
