Lightbulb Questions

Okay folks Iidont know if this is the right place to post this but here we go

1. Thanks for the tips on the horse power I am gathering the stuff to rebiuld my 6. I am wanting to push as much power out of it as I can since it gonna probalby be my daily driver and I dont liKe to go slow and refuse to put a V8 in it.

2. Does anybody know where I can pick up a dual 1 barrell or 2 barrel manifold for a 1976 300 inline

3. Also what is the best 5 speed tranny to drop in this puppy and keep the low granny gear.

I think that is it

Oh I forgot to mention this is my first rebuild and if ya tell me it can't be done then Im dam sure goin gto try and do it

Well..I'm not too sure on the 5 speed while keeping the granny gear. I know I have a t18 four speed and although you can get a gear allotted put on..its unrecommended due to the way it affects pulling and such.

For the manifold, you'll most likely need to either A) make your own, or B) keep your eyes open for a year or two on Ebay and hope one pops up. They're out there, but not in production, and are more often than not, custom made. There never was a 2bbl option for the 300, so any 2bbl manifold is aftermarket.
That's why it's generally just easier to get a 4bbl Offenhauser or Clifford intake.

As far as the transmission, the only option is the ZF 5 speed. The Mazda 5 speed doesn't have a granny gear. Nothing will be as low as a T18/19 or an NP-435 though, but those are 4 speeds without overdrive. The ZF has a 5.72:1 vs. the 6.69:1 of the older transmissions.

No, this is not at all the right place for questions, it states that in the very first post of this thread (which you should read in any stickied thread):

Clifford has a dual carb intake that can be equipped for 2 barrel carbs. I had one a couple years ago and sold it.
The ZF is the best transmission to put behind the 300 unless you are drag racing.

The Offy C can run a 2v card with an adapter.
